Flicker

Short directed by Zachary Bayne Dyck

When Emily's boyfriend, Max (Mukul Vaswani), starts wearing cologne and working on weekends, Emily’s sure he’s hiding something from her. Emily (Sarah J. Bartholomew) grows more suspicious despite Max’s reassurances, and soon an ominous phantom figure begins to follow her around their shared apartment.

The more suspicious Emily gets, the more menacing the phantom becomes– until Emily finally summons the courage and conviction to stand up for herself.

Director Zachary Bayne Dyck’s psychological thriller uses the supernatural to remind us that it's okay to walk away from relationships that don't serve or lift us up any longer.

“Working as a director with Alicia during the intimate scenes of our short film Flicker was so easy. She is a wonderful person & watching her guide the performers through some pre-scene intimacy exercises made me feel very reassured during filming that everything was rehearsed & at the same time comfortable for both actors. Not only did she ensure the actors were comfortable & safe, she provided body language direction that supported our characters’ inner details & desires.

I would highly recommend having an Intimacy Coordinator on your sets, & Alicia Topolnycky brings the best energy & sincerity to the job.”

Zachary Bayne Dyck, Director

“Alicia was the voice I needed on-set. She supported me through any discomforts I had. An Intimacy Coordinator is so so so so important for everyone involved, even for ‘short’ moments of intimacy. Boundaries are important. I don’t know what we were doing without ICs.

I’ve gotten to work with Alicia on three sets now and damn I’m so grateful for her expertise. She creates an incredibly safe environment and is simply amazing.”
